President: Bill Hennrikus '90

The current and founding president of the Balboa Orthopaedic Alumni Association is Bill Hennrikus. After medical school at Georgetown, he completed residency at NMCSD before fellowship training in pediatric orthopaedics at Children's Hospital in Boston. After active duty military service, he transitioned to the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center where he currently serves as a Professor of Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery and remains active in clinical practice, education and research.

Current Department Representative: LCDR Jimmy Bailey '13

James (Jimmy) Bailey is currently one of the Orthopaedic Sports surgeons at NMCSD.  A 1998 graduate from the US Naval Academy, he then spent 6 years as a Marine Officer before transferring over to the Navy for medical school.  He graduated USUHS in 2008 and went straight through Orthopaedic training at NMCSD.  Following graduation, he was a general Orthopaedic Surgeon at NH Bremerton and served as short stent as the Department Head before heading to Sports Fellowship at Duke University.  He rejoined the NMCSD Ortho team in 2016.  He focuses on all forms of shoulder and knee surgery, enjoys research and resident mentorship as well as spending time with his amazing wife and 5 children.
